Subject: [Northshore_Cyclists] Abita Purple Haze & Kids Root Beer Off Road Duathlons

Dear Northshore Cyclists and Team Earthquake members;

To all who came out and raced, cheered or volunteered, thank you. The race was a success even though we had serious weather arrive during the bike portion of the event. Some have told us that they would not have expected anything different as compared to the "freeze fest" of March 3, 2002. We will consult the Farmers Almanac again and see what we can do for the October 12th race. For those of you who may have cursed both of us during the bike ride, we were both tackled in the mud by Bud Weiss, Paul Bodet and Pen Clark. So there, we got wet and muddy too.

We posted 95 Kids in the first ever Abita Root Beer Off-Road Duathlon, and 185 in race #2 in the Abita Purple Haze Off-Road Duathlon. It was an awesome sight to see nearly 100 kids at the start of the race, they looked as though they all had a blast.

The results will be up on the www.crawfishman.net website by morning, in the interim I have attached the overall results for both races. Thanks again to all to devoted their time and effort, it does not go unnoticed. The race or any race would not be successful without great volunteers, and that's what we've got here.

Steve & Mark
